Hello
Well, this took a lot longer than I thought it would. I have been admiring many quilted mug rugs, mainly on US blogs. they are a little bigger than coasters, so there's room for coffee and some biscuits or 'cookies'! I saw this one on Marin and Colousa's blog and just had to copy it. I did intend to make several, but this one was so fiddley and my hands are better served to laying bricks than piecing one and a half inch triangles! I only managed to make one, though I do now have a glut of HSTs ( half square triangles! lol! I hand quilted 'in the ditch' ( in the seams ) which was hard going at the intersections, so next time I will use the sewing machine! The colour isn't true, in IRL the 'blue' is actually teal and blue mix. I may make some more, hopefully, they'll get easier and I'll get quicker at making them!! Hope you enjoy looking at my piccies. Thanks for visiting I'll be greatful for any comments you may leave

Gorgeous Joy! What a great idea, saves on the washing up not having a plate for the bics! Hope you make more but can see why it takes so long - worth it though! xx
Fantastic Joy love the colours and the pattern you have chosen - I've lots of squares and may copy the idea if you don't mind xx Hilda
Goodness Joy the result is beautiful but can imagine just how fiddly all those tiny little pieces of material are. Well done XOXO Zoe

Hi Joy. Gorgeous! Love the colours. I struggle with sewing tiny pieces as I have hands like shovels! You have done a fantastic job.
